i used to row. and i was awful. just so awful. i was in the worst boat, seated in bow. as low as low can get. but still, i felt there was something divine about that sport. i think mostly it had to do with the necessary collective. each individual had to be balanced to set the boat, each oar had to strike the water in perfect synchronicity, each pull had to be of the accurate force. and when all of this happened, you didn’t just glide across the water, you soared. there was no longer a boat beneath your feat, you were actually flying. it’s a very transcendent experience made possible only through the effort of each individual working together to create a unified whole.
i just realized these guys opened for fleet foxes! i’m so slow, can’t put two and two together. i knew his voice sounded familiar…anyways i really like them and i’m glad to say i’ve seen them on stage :D
